Volunteer Trustee Opportunities

The board of Sustainable Community Solutions Limited (known as ECOE Advice) are seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees at an exciting time in our development.

Formerly part of ECOE, our charity is entering a new phase as we launch a refreshed brand and develop an ambitious 5-year strategy to expand our impact in fighting fuel poverty and increasing our retrofit offering across the South-West.

About the Role

As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction, governance, and long-term sustainability of the charity. Trustees work collectively to ensure the organisation delivers on its mission, remains financially resilient, and operates in line with its legal and regulatory responsibilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your professional expertise to an organisation committed to creating a fair and just energy economy.

Commitment

  • Quarterly Board meetings (approx. 1.5 hours each)
  • Ad hoc meetings, workshops, or strategy sessions as required
  • Optional participation in Board-level committees aligned to your expertise
  • All roles are voluntary, with reasonable expenses reimbursed where applicable.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who:

  • Share our commitment to sustainability and measurable impact
  • Bring strategic thinking and sound judgement
  • Are collaborative and values-driven
  • Can offer time, expertise, and constructive challenge at Board level

Previous trustee experience is welcome but not essential.

How to Apply

To express your interest, please submit:

A CV or professional profile and a short covering statement outlining your motivation and relevant experience. Please send to our Interim Chair, Ellie Lister, ellie@scscharity.org.uk.

Application Deadline: 22nd April 2026

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive Board and strongly encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
