The programme builds on the success of our pilot project last year, also enabled by Mid Devon District Council. The service is delivered by ECOE Advice, an award‑winning local charity that has been supporting people across Mid Devon for more than seven years. Our team provides free, impartial energy advice and has helped thousands of households cut their bills, improve comfort and tackle issues like damp, mould and cold homes.
For residents thinking about improving their home energy efficiency, whether that’s insulation, heating upgrades or renewable energy, we offer step‑by‑step guidance. We help you understand what’s right for your property and explore cost‑effective options. We can also offer additional discounted services such as EPCs, air tightness testing, boroscopes and thermal imaging cameras. Our aim is to make retrofit simple, clear and achievable for every household, giving you knowledge and confidence to take the next steps.
This strand provides free, independent home energy advice for residents across Mid Devon. Our advisors can help you understand your energy use, explore simple ways to reduce your bills, access grants and funding for home improvements and find out what support is available locally. We offer home visits to help you understand your heating system, identify where heat is being lost, fit small energy‑saving measures and support you to access funding for larger improvements. Every visit ends with clear, personalised recommendations focused on what will make the biggest difference for you. We also run community outreach sessions across the district, making it easy to drop in, ask questions and get support in person. Healthy Homes for Wellbeing is open to all residents, regardless of whether you own your home or live in social or rented housing.
